Mission Statement:

    The mission of the Practice Administrator Membership Category of the Alabama Chapter of the American College of Cardiology is to support the Chapter and the leadership of its members' practice(s).


Vision Statement:

    The vision of the Practice Administrators is to:

  • Collaborate with cardiologists and other CV care participants as advocates for quality cardiovascular care.

  • Assist in influencing health care policy.

  • Participate in developing and implementing the Chapter’s initiatives that benefit the community.

  • Enhance the relationships and communications with third party payers.

  • Promote relationships among practice administrators through Chapter sponsored networking opportunities.

  • Foster the partnership rapport among cardiologists and practice administrators.

  • Participate on the ACC’s committees and task forces at the State and National levels.


Goals:

  • Prepare a plan to develop a vibrant Practice Administrator Membership Category of the Alabama Chapter of ACC.

  • Develop a business plan that enhances dialogue with third party payers by providing communication channel(s) for large and small cardiology practices with the payers’ decision-makers. The plan may include, but not limited to, a Messenger Model.

  • Participate in advocacy and lobbying activities of the Chapter.

  • Assist the Chapter with implementing projects such as “Assault on Alabama Cardiovascular Mortality”.

Key Dates:

 

  • The 1st Annual Practice Administrators' Educational Meeting held in Birmingham AL on September 11 was a huge success with 20 administrators attending (representing over 100 physicians)! Take a look at the meeting agenda to see what was covered. Slideshows from each presentation will be uploaded as we receive permissions from the speakers.

Costs:

 

    Membership dues for AL Chapter of the ACC Practice Administrators will not be in effect until 2010.  The cost to attend the June 6, 2009 Session will be $125.00 per attendee.
